Trust

"But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say 'You are my God.'
My times are in Your hand"
-Psalm 31:14,15

~+~

The cliche "pregnant pause"
"bated breath"
and "deafening silence"
that presently pervade my path

are Cliche because these things are common to man
Cliche because they are the go-to tools of the Potter
the primary privations used to teach His timing
used to teach us Trust

And so I wait
And so I watch
And so I brace myself against voices
which flatter me into false starts
and premature emergence
which promise a counterfeit exodus
and countermand Christ's call to "Wait"

I endure the strain of stillness
And quiet myself to hear...

I know, in the end, "I shall see God"

It seems we are going along on a similiar path...
today it is trust....When I opened your blog to see the subject...I said here we go again....Trust is an issue in my life that God is definitely working on again to take me to a newer and deeper level of trust in Him....You words express so well what is in my heart.....

"I endure the strain of stillnesss...And quiet myself to hear"......the very subject of the retreats I help faciliate in the mountains and constantly working on myself.....

I always feel quieter when I have visited you....
Thank you.....

And so wait. There is much wisdom in that choice, my friend. Much wisdom.

Hindsfeet, this is my FAVORITE so far! It's rhythm, its message, its flow... stunning.

Can I copy it on my blog tomorrow and link it back to you? It would be an honor to share this!

So, let me say, PLEASE!!! YOU are SO creative! THe Lord blessed you beyond the norm with the ability to put His messages into poetry and prose...

I always have to re-read your beautiful writings, as they are so deep and well thought out. This is stunning. I have a problem with trust. I'm not a trusting individual and I doubt often. I even have a necklace that has the word "doubtful" on it, though this is more about people and not God - well, not always.

I popped over here via Scattering Lupines today. Is your screen name derived from the book Hindsfeet on High Places? It's one of my all time favorites!

The ability to wrap words around your thoughts about what God is teaching you is a gift - & your poetry...I'd say that's some lovely giftwrap :)

Hi "MyStory",

Yes, it is from Hinds' Feet on High Places, also my favorite....a light to my path at a very early age...I still re-read it sometimes...

Thanks so much for your sweet words here...I look forward to visiting your site soon....
