"'I will deliver you...and this is the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing which He has spoken: Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward.' so the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down."
-Isaiah 38:8

The implications of this verse are stunning, and, barring divine intervention, earth-shattering.  These words were given by God to Hezekiah in answer to his petition for deliverance from death.

Moved by His beloved's prayer, God quite literally moved heaven and earth to save Hezekiah, to deliver and defend him.  In response to one person's cry for help, the Creator of the universe altered the course of everything that makes the world go 'round.  Flaunting physics, daring the sun to defy Him, He demonstrated His deity over His own creation for the sake of His chosen, His child.

As we approach the new year, and all it holds, let us remember Who holds us...let us remember the place we hold in His heart...

Conceived in more love
than human passions can imagine

Embraced in the serene solitude of this embryonic season

A Garden enclosed
in the womb of Your keeping

I find myself,

Born Again...
