Rain

"The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad...the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose"
-Isaiah 35:1

~ ~ ~

Let it trickle down
till it covers this dust
till it runs through my hair
down my neck
over my shoulders...

Let it soak through my pores
and pool up inside me
till I'm flooded and full and overflowing...

For all who are thirsty
Make me more than mere mirage
Let them come and drink deeply of You
Living Water flowing freely
Let nothing occlude
Wet this wasteland with mercy
Let this dry desert bloom...

A million "yes"'s to this beautiful heartcry!!!
My spirit stands up and bellows "me too!!!"
Trusting Him to water all of our thirsty places...a deep, drenching soaking that spills over onto and into every dry place in our gardens until the whole earth is brimming with His river.

It's so nourishing to have someone articulate so artfully a longing in your heart....I long for this kind of rain. Thank you for sharing.

This is lovely! We received a morning-long downpour of rain today - it's the first rain we've had in weeks now. I was thinking how refreshing it is.
