Held Hostage

Had our Cities Burned 

Our Citizens Terrorized

 Our Infrastructure Attacked

 Our Flag Desecrated 

Our History Raped

 Our Officers Murdered

 Our streets Overrun with Crimes against Humanity 

and 

Declarations of War

And We've Finally Brought The Terrorists To Justice.

We've Given These Terrorists A Holiday

We've Met The Hijackers Demands

We've Apologized To Our Captors

For Being Such Ungrateful Hostages.

We've Handed over our lunch money

To the bully in the schoolyard,

And taken up a collection for more.

And while every C-cup who can read a script 

(a.k.a. "newscasters") 

pimps herself out to these perpetrators,

We've bent over,

Grabbed our ankles,

And thanked these criminals for the privilege.

No self sacrifice required,

 No self transcendence necessary,

 Take a trip around the board, collect $200, and bonus, avoid jail completely.

 This beautiful rubber check with 

"Your Life Matters" 

written convincingly in the memo,

Paid to you, the gullible recipient.

Not because you worked for it,

Not because you've ever done anything that remotely matters,

Not because you made a positive impact in another's life,

 Nope, no self-sacrifice required whatsoever.

You can sit on your butt, 

or, if you like,

March aimlessly down the street,

 Setting things on fire 

and smashing up others' property 

(something an unintelligent three-year-old could manage, by the way)

 And still, 

Your life gets to matter.

Catching on yet?

(even that three-year-old would get it at this point)

You've been played,  America. 

Seems BLM's throwaway poster child

was well-chosen;

The bills they're passing out

are as useless as his were,

and about as convincing.
